our weekend :: a little late

our internet connection went out today.  i know…excuses, excuses!  since i could not for the life of me picture taking the three schooners to starbucks with me so as to get up the weekly weekend post…it’s coming at you a little late today.  forgive me please.

/1./ music.  we met up with church friends for an outdoor music night at utica square.  someday i will do a complete post on the square.  when i found it here, i was sorta ok with giving up my pottery barn outlet in SC and outdoor dining in downtown greenville.  /2./ boys.  the menfolk take a break and go to a drillers baseball game on friday night.  jeff on the left, stevo {hot hubs} in the middle, and casey on the right.  /3./ VBS.  i have such fond memories of vacation bible school growing up.  i felt so grown up dropping my emma claire off all week.  those moments hit you sometimes: i’m doing what my mom used to do.  it sinks hard sometimes!  “time, please slow down and give me a chance to catch up.” /4./ baking.  i haven’t made a bonified baking-with-sugar recipe in a while.  i gave up on being healthy last week after the fourth meal in a row at mcdonalds. i had had no time to go to the grocery store and was hustling back and forth between houses.  but those muffins…oh those muffins.  i even went so far as to make the crumb topping.  and it was good.  stevo kissed me extra long that day. /5./ deck.  ever since we left our beautiful deck in sc, i’ve missed it.  this house has a gorgeous one off of the living areas and it’s perfect for riding bikes.  /6./ tired.  sundays are just hard for kids.   there’s just no way around it.  keller usually doesn’t make it home before falling asleep.  we live a lot closer to our church now, so maybe that will help!  and yes.  that is a quick trip sign you see in the background.  and yes. we did get some diet coke.  sue me.  /7./ friends.  it’s been so nice to be closer to our friends here in the “big town”.  although, we miss out little town friends just as much now!  what could be better than hanging out on a summer night, eating mexican food, playing with the family dog, swimming in the pool, and swinging on a rope swing? nothin comes to mind, except eternity with Jesus. /8./ frappacino. it is hitting triple digits…weather-wise this week.  a free, iced caramel frappachino from starbucks hits the spot after church.  /9./ groceries.  finally made it to the grocery store after church.  i was so sick of french fries and happy meals.  i bought wheat flour, bananas, oats, honey…you know the drill.  i swear my stomach is already doing better. steven cut the kiss short that night.

just kidding. :)
