Feb25 Our Weekend Link Up. 2013
If you’re new here, this is Our Weekend day at Annapolis & Company. Instead of getting blue because it’s Monday, we celebrate the weekend and recap with our photos. I hope you’ll join in on the fun!
1./ watercolor. we bought this little watercolor kit for the girls for christmas from ikea and they drag it out often and make art for me. i have paintings all over my office and i love it. can i also insert a non-funded plug for ikea? they get kids and mums who want stylish play wear. we take one trip there before christmas for our holiday shopping and we are never disappointed with their classic toys and fun color schemes. if you haven’t been, go there.
2./ john henry & marshall. they came over to play on friday afternoon and brought these delicious oatmeal raisin cookies…we were finished with about 8, bakery-size cookies in 5 minutes flat. thank you, emily! while keller and i were eating, the kids were playing outside in the leftover snow and crashing snowmen. ah…i’m still reveling in our snow day over here. :)
3./ mary bratton. is that not the coolest name? her 21st birthday was friday and steven and i made a date of it. {thank you, emily and jeff for watching the schooners!} their house is just beautiful, full of history and like a pinterest dream come true for me. we took a trolley around town and rung in the end of the night with andolini’s pizza and petit fours. best birthday party ever…thank you for letting me take pictures!
4./ grownup sleepover. emily spent the night and we made it an official grownup sleepover, staying up till 4am talking, designing, eating candy, and drinking coffee. favorite emily memory to date. :)
5./ breakfast. the schooners ask for food all day. and i mean all day. we will have just eaten a full breakfast and 10 minutes later they’re asking for “a little something to tide them over.” seriously?! it stresses me out. so i have been adopting lauren’s motto, to keep apples around within their reach, so they can get one when they are hungry. so far, we’ve gone through an entire big bag of apples in 2 days and i have determined they are literally that hungry. lord help us when the teenage years hit.
6./ abacus. maybe we are a little antiquated around here, but we use this abacus {from ikea} to work on numbers and counting with emma claire. it takes me right back to colonial times and i love it. and the chest underneath the abacus is my latest project that i hope to reveal in the coming week. it hit me the other day that we have lived in this house for 4 months and i need to finish making this place our home. no promises, but i’m hoping to show some more interior design related things again on the blog…stay tuned!
7./ doggy dancing. the girls and i were having a ballet recital at home and y’all, i wish i had video footage. emma claire is the dominant one and always runs the show, telling shiloh where to go and what to do. but this night, shiloh got into her character dog life that she lives about 60% of the time {the other 40 is her cow life} and showed us her “doggy ballet”. it was the biggest laugh you’ll ever have. like a dog peeing with pointed toes. love that crazy girl.
8./ chips. we have this thing we do: pick up chips from our local mexican restaurant with queso, guacamole, and salsa and watch netflix. it’s the perfect in-home date for two. and costs about $9 total. you canNOT beat a date for that price. :) plus, you get to wear pajamas.
9./ reading. we try to spend a few minutes a day reading books around here. it’s our favorite way to spend time together, to calm down life a little and be still for a few minutes. we didn’t make a weekly library trip last week, so we read up on hungry caterpillars and The Jesus Storybook Bible. good sweet, times with the schooners.
so how was your weekend??? you wanna link up with your photos too?! perfect. i would love to have you. here’s the skinny…
:: link up to anything weekend related. a photo. a diagrammed map of the places you went. a recap. a photo grid…the weekend sky is the limit!
:: don’t forget to link to your actual blog post, not just your main page. for example. http://annapolisandcompany.com/2013/01/its-the-weekend-are-you-ready-to-partay/
:: grab a weekend button from the sidebar {see the code box!}, or just link back to annapolis & company so others know they can join in the fun.
:: try to visit at least one other person’s weekend and spread some comment lovin’.

You know what I love about your writing girl? It’s beautifully honest and real. It’s refreshing to read. Lovely as always.
Susanna, that is so good to hear! I never ever want to portray this perfect little life on here. I love realness and I’m so encouraged to know that that is what you take away from A & C.
I think my body is still recovering from Friday night/Sat morning! Ha! So much fun though! I was just talking to Jeff last night about diy-ing an abacus for the office. :) I can’t wait to see some more design/DIY posts.
Emily! That’s a great idea! You could make it look antique with muted colors…you’ll make it look fabulous as always. Thanks for being excited about house projects around here…I need ALL the motivation I can get.
Looks like you had a lovely weekend! My two are always hungry as well – must be the age!
I hope so! Our grocery budget is getter bigger by the month. :)
My goodness! I have got to say that I totally enjoy and adore your photos! I just recently got a DSLR camera and have been finding a love of photography and the simple things. Your photos are a total inspiration! Newest follower! :)
