Feb20 What I Wore Wednesday 2013

Annapolis & Company | What I Wore Wednesday

It’s Wednesday!  Which is also translated as fashion day in the blogging world.  I wrote my very first fashion post, with photos by my 4-yr-old, last week and you all were so kind and encouraging that I pep talked myself into doing it again.  Very convincing you all are and I can’t decide if it’s a good thing or if I’ll kick myself later for doing this. :)  But here we go.  Hold your horses because it was windy and the hair was crazy…

The weather got warm enough on a few days last week to go for a summery look with sandals…in February, I know.  I bought these wedge sandals last fall for $6 from Gap.   I couldn’t wait for the chance to drag those babies out of my closet!

Buying in the off season will provide steals-of-a-deals like that.  You just have to be willing to hold out for the really reduced mark downs and snatch when you see retail throw an extra %30 or %40 off their clearance racks.  This is my secret.  Be informed.

I would never consider my style boho, but after working for Anthopologie for the past 4 months, this tailored girl is going a little more loosey goosey….and loving it.  The dress was picked up {in the off season} for $7 at Anthro and will be my staple in the summer with t-shirts, cardigans, or just by itself.  You could take this dress waay more boho with a scarf tied around your head and maybe a big belt, but I wanted to understate the look and make it my own with a simple, navy tee and a thin, vintage belt.

I added another striped hoodie layer for the nippy evenings here.  I love how mixing patterns turns an otherwise “normal” clothing choice into a unique outfit that sets it apart from traditional.

And because I always like to know sources…here’s mine…

//Sources:

//Navy tee: Gap

//Dress: Anthropologie {you can find another maxi I love from Anthro here}

//Striped Hoodie: Old Navy {similar found here}

//Belt: Vintage {passed down to me from my grandmother!}

//Sandals: Gap {similar found here}

//Bag: Vintage Coach {similar found here}

What would you all say is your style these days?  Vintage glam? Preppy?  Traditional?  A little bit of everything in between?  {I’m still figuring mine out, you know.}

    Sam, thanks for taking a minute to stop by and comment! Your blog is beautiful! Check on etsy or ebay for a vintage coach. I saw a lot this morning when I was perusing for similar links to direct everybody to. Hope you find one! It is the only purse I own and it goes with practically everything.

    Thank you for stopping by! And thanks for sharing…my favorite was the yellow paired with stripes. It is my humble opinion that one can never have too many stripes in their life. :)
