Mar04 Our Weekend Link Up!!! 2013

Annapolis-&-Company-_-Our-Weekend

1./ the organic bloom. before i started 2013, i had narrowed down what i wanted to focus on in the coming year.  they were: stay home more and teach the schooners; pursue editorial photography; pursue blogging; spend more time with steven and work on our marriage; and pursue the marketing for our church plant.  in all honesty, i had no idea how i was going to “get in” on editorial photography since i haven’t had any experience in that department yet, but it’s just like God to drop surprises into my lap.  so when rachel contacted me and asked me if i would be interested in photographing a catalog for the organic bloom, i said an emphatic yes!  to be given the opportunity to work with other creatives and produce good work is just a dream come true for me.  {you can see the true sneak peak here.}  thank you, Lord.  and thank you, andrea, jason, and rachel.

2./ stamps. the girls have recently discovered the stamp and ink bin in my craft closet.  they are not washable so i make them strip down into their undies…they make a schooner mess in no time, but they are SO into it and i love their finished products.  like this picture of the entire stamp pad stamped onto paper…so resourceful those schooners are.

3./ lifeline. i got sick over the weekend with sinus stuff and sore throat stuff.  and really, i can’t complain because i have missed the majority of the sicknesses going around this winter.  but i did have several blogging and photography deadlines due and i needed something to carry me through.  i had set some medicine on the bathroom counter to take, but when i reached for it, i realized keller had connivingly swiped it in the 30 seconds it took for me to apply mascara.  and when i asked him where it was he just kept grinning that winsome smile that he, and only he, can pull off.  so steven bought me coffee with his birthday gift cards.  and i can’t even begin to tell you how good warm coffee felt going down my sore throat.  like tonic to my soul.  and you can’t beat that.

4./ schooner stud. i take the kids at rush hour, on a friday night, to drop off a photo cd in midtown.  we pick up chinese for dinner from our favorite little place on the way home.  i got a family size container of egg drop soup and drank that down like it was going out of style.  and that felt pretty good on my throat too.

5./ park playing. we take a minute on saturday to go up to the park to play and snap photos for the next what-i-wore-wednesday post.  we’re getting some slightly warmer evenings again and after our snow day, i feel fulfilled and ready for spring.  note to self: go buy fabric for the girls easter dress patterns you’ve had sitting in the closet for over a year.

6./ reading. we’re library fiends over here.  we are getting good use out of our tax dollars and checking out all sorts of good stuff every week.  and i have the most huhlarious video for you from this yoga video for kids we got.  stay tuned…

7./ sweet peppers. i discovered these small sweet peppers from aldi {our go-to grocery store, since my kids eat me out of house and home} and they are even cheaper than a bag of apples and make a really good help-yourself snack for the kids.  we are all about that.  and they love them.  win win.

8./ anthropologie. when i began working for anthropologie last fall i thought i would really struggle with buying all their clothes with my paychecks, and while i do get my calculator out almost every time i work {just to see how my percentage off pans out on new items, you know} i find myself eating up their candles and now i’m addicted.  like when the last flame dies out, i feel this need to get another one or else our home won’t feel complete.   for crying out loud. perspective, mb.

9./ laundry. my idea of taking it easy means, burning my anthro candle, drinking coffee, watching movies, and doing something productive while i’m at it.  like laundry.  because there is always laundry to be done and i will always never have my folding caught up.

so how was your weekend?  did you lay around and watch movies too, or go on an outdoorsy adventure?  i want to hear all about it!!!  here’s the skinny on the link-up…

:: link up to anything weekend related.  a photo. a diagrammed map of the places you went.  a recap. a photo grid…the weekend sky is the limit!

:: don’t forget to link to your actual blog post, not just your main page. for example. http://annapolisandcompany.com/2013/01/its-the-weekend-are-you-ready-to-partay/

I read this and it hits me: we’re doing it. Us teens from wee ole’ spartanburg, sc are doing it. We’re growing up. We’re having families and learning to love them and serve them. Seeing pictures of you and Steven lovin’ on your kiddos almost makes my heart stop a moment, realizing that this isn’t pretend, this isn’t a phase. We’re pursuing The Kingdom through every day life, and it’s beautiful. It’s exciting to hear how you and Steven are focusing close on your marriage and family. I pray for that for you guys, you know. After reading your tribute to Steven for his birthday it made me grin remembering how you first told me you guys were dating. We were at Morning Side Church waiting to get our marching orders for NH. You were at a piano {as usual} and you looked up at me with a far off dreamy look and announced Steven had finally talked to your dad about dating. You giggled and your fingers floated across the keys in an equally dreamy tune. I didn’t say anything, and you couldn’t see my “I-told-you-so”-expression because you were slightly preoccupied. But all I kept thinking was, “this is it MB. This is the one. You two were meant for each other. I’m happy for you, so very happy.” Haha! Praising God for His kindness to you and the opportunities He is directing your way! {I’ll link up later today . . . busy morning}

    Thanks, Mary! The sinus infection only lasted for about 3 days…which as you know, for a mum, is not all that bad!

Loved it! I’m still curious what Keller did with your medicine???? :) Also, I just discovered Anthropologie for the first time a few weekends ago! Love that store now!

    Oh girl. Anthropologie and you will be hooked for life now…I just know it. And the medicine? No idea! I’m forever finding things in random places and losing things all the time. He’s in that ornery stage and for some reason I am really enjoying it this go round. He has a way of making me laugh when I ask him where something went and he throws his hands up and says, “Hanh!”
