Casey Leigh is a beautiful soul. Fierce-loving mama of three beautiful kids, supportive wife to her husband, film-producer Chris Wiegand, natural beauty on the outside and inside, passionate entrepreneur and blogger…I could keep going on and on forever. She and I “met” over the internet at a time when I really needed it in my blogging journey. I think there is always a part of a creative that worries. You’re not good enough. You’re not inspiring enough. Talented enough. Writing passionately enough. And then you meet a Casey in your life and they tell you you’re doing it. You’re living out your dreams and you shouldn’t waste that living in fear and insecurity. She accepted me, told me to keep pursuing my passions, encouraged me…and I’ll forever be grateful.
Casey’s Instagram feed is full of exciting projects (like the recent Noonday lookbook shoot her and Chris did together in El Paso) and simple days at home with her kids and their expanding pet family of bunnies, chickens, and lizards. I hope you’ll be as inspired by her as I am…
When did you first join Instagram? What kept you coming back?
I joined a year ago in October! and I instantly fell in love with the amazing instagram community! I love being able to see a beautiful image with something inspirational written below in the caption. For a mom that is on the go, it is perfect. I can quickly look at my feed, share a snippet of our life and be inspired by others all in one!
Does your Instagram feed show a different dimension of your life than your blog?
I think that it does! More day-to-day things that I might not share on the blog. There is definitely an overlap but I try and keep it different for people that follow along with both!
What are your favorite apps to edit your Instagram photos?
What places/people outside of Instagram inspire your phone photos?
Nature, seeing beauty in the everyday things…the little things.
You have such a large and supportive following. What advice would you give someone who is looking to grow their following, but doesn’t know where to start?
Aw, that is so sweet and made me smile! I would say caring about the people that follow along with your story is huge. Being true to yourself and just being intentional about what you want out of your space!
Do you think Instagram can be used to encourage and positively influence people? If so, how?
Oh absolutely. I am constantly inspired and encouraged by the people that I follow. You have your own little platform where you can share your heart, share your life experiences..your heartaches…. people can laugh and cry with you, see you change and overcome. Even just seeing how others see life through a lens can be inspiring!
The Everyday Project is all about finding the beauty in our everyday and capturing it with photographs. What’s your secret to finding beauty in your everyday?
We never know when our day will be our last….every moment, every breath is an absolute gift and seeing and appreciating the beauty in the everyday is what it is all about!
