I’ve been missing in action on The Everyday Project, but so grateful to see a few features of the project carrying the torch while I regroup from realtor meetings and all-day cleaning/painting marathons. I imagine the craziness ends at some point….right?! 😉 I had these features saved in my phone from awhile ago when the photo prompt was “FAMILY” for the week. Revisiting them today makes me love that no matter how quickly time passes, we can freeze it with a photograph. Seeing families all around the world sharing their moments by a waterfall, jumping on a trampoline, or daddy leaving for work, feel like privileged peeks into the sacred past. I hope you’ll take a minute to browse through these lovely feeds and find a few new faces to follow on Instagram. Lovely photographs this week are by… @ozarkmamadeer @anniekarate @ourmulticolouredlife @dibonjo @chasingblair @chelle_bruzas @alonganinlandsea @amamcollective The photo prompt for next week is “UNEXPECTED”. To be featured or just to participate and be inspired, hashtag your photos #theeverydayproject on Instagram. We are at 18,000+ beautiful photos and growing! P.S. The photo prompt from this week for The Everyday Project was BEGINNING. Flipping through the photos on IG made me so grateful for those of you who share your stories and your beginnings. It makes the rest of us not feel alone. It reminds us to see the beautiful moments. It stretches our perspective of the world. And we need more of that. We need more of that God-given creativity to crawl out from under our skin and become painted in our homes, etched on the mountains we climb, chopped into homemade salsa, planted in our gardens, and displayed in a yoga pose at sunrise. I’ve never been good with my phone. I’m that person who keeps saying I’m going to buy an otter box, but has had her screen crack three times. THREE times. I’m guilty of letting my phone die almost every afternoon and never feeling the urge to charge it again until late at night when I’m laying in bed and the schooners are all asleep next to me and the thought occurs, “I might need my phone in case there’s an emergency.” So I trudge around a dark house looking for my phone charger. The phone charger that only works if you lay the cord just so. About two weeks ago, my iPhone 4 began biting the dust. Specifically the portion where you take photos. (My life is a living irony, I swear.) It took all my Everyday Project posts revolving around “no complaining” and “work with what you have” to a whole new level! Thankfully, I was able to get a “new” phone for free last night and I’m ordering an otter box off of Amazon as we speak. 😉 As I get everything transferred over and I get use to actually taking photos of our everyday again, I just wanted to say how much I’ve appreciated your comments on IG saying how blessed you’ve been by this Instagram project I host. I know I’ve been pretty absent, but your encouragement during a very busy season of my life has meant the world to me. You have inspired me far more than I could ever inspire you – so thanks for being amazing. The photo prompt for #theeverydayproject this past week was TREASURE. It was probably the hardest week yet for me to pick my favorites because we each have so many treasures in our lives, and how do we narrow that down? I picked the photos that just tugged at my heartstrings and went with my gut. I hope you enjoy them and that you see the treasure behind every photo and the person who took them. The theme this past week for The Everyday Project was MORNING. I am an early bird through and through, so I was really interested to flip through Instagram and see how you all spend your waking hours. I’m usually swallowing my vitamins and drinking a glass of water while I work in the office, which is so booooooring. When I want to spice it up, I drink orange juice in one of my kid’s sippy cups. Admit it, you’re dying to come hang out sometime. I don’t know if you all are completely faking it, but your mornings looked so romantic that I wanted to come live with you and have you cook my breakfast and take me to cool coffee shops. I live vicariously through IG, can you tell? You all supplied such a wonderful variety of photos, but the theme that stood out to me was a warm light and lots of yellows. Simply beautiful! I can’t say enough how impressed I am by all the creativity – it makes me want to be a better phone photographer. I thought this week’s photo prompt was so fun. I found myself looking around every day for groupings of three and it felt good to stretch my brain. In my head, I kept thinking everyone would interpret this challenge and post mostly architecture, but I was pleasantly surprised to find such a huge variety on Instagram. You all never cease to amaze and inspire me! Thanks for participating in #theeverydayproject and sharing your perspective with the world.
